Chip'n Review - Robots/Talking Robots Podcasts

Robots podcast - Four and a bit Chips

Robots podcast -and by extension- the discontinued Talking Robots podcast are a pair of great publications about, you guessed it robots.

Why am I lumping them together?

  • Roughly the same people involved effectively
  • Same continuity (one started right after they discontinued the other).
  • Similar content
So what do (these) podcasts offer?
In a nutshell Cool technology, awesome (and insightful) interviews, top notch production quality and if you squint really hard insights into -wait for it - THE WORLD OF TOMORROW!

These podcasts are by no means technical meaning anybody with an interest in robotics can listen to episodes and since they generally sit at around 30 minutes long they don't outstay their welcome.

TL DR;
May include traces of anything remotely robotic, medium length, no big words inside, you like - but only if you're a fan of such.

Chip'n Review - Skeptoid

Skeptoid - 5 Chips - Undiluted win

Link - I'm going to start with the benchmark; To get five stars (or inconceivably, above) a given podcast must be at least this good.

The Podcast
Skeptoid episodes focus on de-constructing a given topic - often a modern myth or misconception of some kind - and taking an in depth look at what makes it tick.

Brian Dunning - the shows creator - does far more than simple 'debunking'; He takes the topic and actually looks at it (*gasp*). How is this done? he looks at available data, original sources where available and does a fine job of explaining his findings using small words within the ten-or-so minutes of a Skeptoid episode.

That and he gives full references (which I am ashamed to say I have never looked at :P).

TL DR
I reckon Brian could make even reading a shopping list interesting - If you want a wide variety of interesting topics that looks at psudoscience and common myths (amongst other things) here is a podcast for you. And for the record - no other podcast I have come across is of this quality.
